Executive Chef
David Highlender

An Honors graduate from the Culinary Program at the Art Institute of Houston, Chef David Highlender changed his career in his early twenties after realizing his true passion was being in the kitchen. Reaching the title of Executive Chef in only six months was a true milestone in his career. He also discovered he had a passion for teaching young culinary students about the industry and how to succeed as a Chef.

Among many of the companies Chef David has worked for the most notable include Hilton Hotels, Bon Appetit Management Company, and Eurest Dining. Forming the

company Made From Scratch, inc. in 2005 Chef David set out on a mission to teach others how to enjoy the kitchen in their own homes as much as he does doing it for a living.

Chef David is a member of the American Culinary Federation and the World Association of Chefs. He currently sits on the Board for the Houston Chapter of the ACF and holds the Education Chair.
